In 2016, 51% of American two year-olds were racial and ethnic minorities. The demographics of our country are changing, and teachers must respond to the realities of the children in their classrooms. But how?
Luckily, so much new young adult literature exists that highlights the diversity of our country and opens our eyes to global issues.
The hope of this site is to encourage students and teachers to read books that represent a wide range of life experiences, from those of Native-Americans, African-Americans, Latinos, LGBT youth, immigrants, and technologically connected kids.
Enjoy and read on.
